About

Matt is an Experience and Interaction Designer who thrives on figuring out purpose, workflow, layout and the creation of the best web-experiences meshing business objectives with accomplishing user goals.

As a kid he liked drawing comic books. In high school he enjoyed art, creative writing and painting. During college he grew to love psychology, anthropology and graphic design. Now he's a UI/UE Designer - It all makes sense right?

The goal is to make the internet make sense, and that's what Matt does. There are many ways to create solutions, he promotes exploring new techniques, having a plan, experimentation with process and maintaining an ability to remain versatile - only good things can come of it.

Time away from the computer is as important as the time in front of it, some of the ways he spends his time outside of the offic are climbing, soccer, swimming, running, drinking coffee, photography, snowboarding, VWs, drinking wine and more.

He participates in communities online and real-life (thank god) and can't do without them. If you'd like to connect, check out the list to the right.

CV (that's european for experience - or something.)

Freelance (Part-time)
Spring 2008 to Present
Selectively taking on contracts, on my own and with others, to create excellent web experiences. Working within the realms of, but not limited to, branding, design, planning, wireframes and HTML/CSS.
Integrum Technologies, LLC
Fall 2006 to Present
Figuring out workflows, layouts and user interactions for web applications - while Multi-tasking, in an agile environment, and at various proximity to clients. Really, this deserves a conversation, not just a sentence. My responsibilities were many and large.
Apple Computers, Inc
Winter 2005 to Fall 2006
Promoted from 'Apple Specialist' (aka Sales) to Creative. As Creative I taught groups and individuals software ranging from Final Cut Pro to Keynote, Aperture to Adobe Creative Suite. I learned a lot about keeping schedules, being prepared and talking to groups and individuals.
DiscMakers
Spring and Summer of 2005
Intern! I did a lot. Resizing images for product display on the web, some simple HTML/CSS (unfortunately in DreamWeaver)
Danzeisen & Quigley
Winters 2004 & 2005
The best part was helping excited people best fit themselves (budget and equipment wise) for their dreams of skiing/snowboarding; talking, listening and understanding customers.
Purdue Pharma
Summer 2003
As an intern I planned and began building a heavily used intranet hub for the Purdue Pharmacy library. I didn't finish and there were lay-offs before the next summer. It was very fun and since then I've developed skills of 'discovery' and workflow I initially knew were necessary and didn't know how to execute.
